Cancellations and refunds
Last updated: 2 November 2026
This page explains when you can cancel and when you get your money back. Words such as "consumer" and "business customer" mean the same as in our Terms.
Before you sign
There's nothing to pay until you sign. If you don't want to go ahead, you owe nothing.
This includes the website we design and show you. If you don't go ahead, the design stays ours and you can't use it.
After you sign: your 14-day right to cancel
If you're a consumer
You have the legal right to cancel your contract within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days start the day after you sign the contract.
How to cancel. Tell us clearly before the 14 days end. Email support@devologies.com, write to 49 Corporation Road, Newport, NP19 0AY, or call 07492 165322. You can use the form at the bottom of this page, but you don't have to. It's enough to send your message before the 14 days end.
If we start work within the 14 days. You can ask us to start your changes before the 14 days are up, and most people do, because otherwise we'd have to wait. Your contract asks you to:
- confirm that you want us to start straight away, and
- acknowledge that you'll lose your right to cancel once the work is fully done.
If you made that request and then cancel:
- before the work is fully done, you pay for the work done up to when you told us, as a fair share of the contract price, and we refund the rest
- after the work is fully done, the right to cancel has ended.
The work is fully done when your website goes live.
If you don't ask us to start early, we won't begin until the 14 days are over.
The monthly plan. If you cancel within the 14 days and your plan has started, you pay for the days your plan ran, as a share of the £29. If we've already registered your domain, it stays in your name and is transferred to you, with no charge.
Your refund. We'll refund you without undue delay, and within 14 days of when you told us. We'll use the same payment method you used, unless you agree to something else, and there's no fee. If you cancel and get a refund of the £399 less any fair share, the website stays ours and you must stop using it.
If you're a business customer
The law doesn't give businesses a 14-day right to cancel. This includes sole traders buying wholly or mainly for their business.
After you've paid the £399
If you change your mind after paying and before we start your changes, we'll refund the £399 in full. Once we've started, we don't offer refunds beyond your legal rights.
If something goes wrong
These rights apply whatever the option above.
Consumers. We must provide our services with reasonable care and skill, and as described. If we don't, you can ask us to do the work again, or if that isn't possible or takes too long, you may have the right to a price reduction, which can be up to the full amount. You may have other rights too. Citizens Advice can explain them.
Business customers. If we break the contract, tell us and we'll try to put it right first. You keep your legal rights, as limited by the Terms.
Leaving your monthly plan
Give us 30 days' notice. There's no exit fee.
We don't refund months already used. Your last payment covers only the days up to the end of the 30 days, so there's nothing left to refund.
Consumer and business customers alike get their domain transferred to their own registrar and a backup of their website and emails. Email keeps working until the end of your paid period, and then it closes. Your ownership of your website doesn't change. The £399 isn't refunded when you leave, because you've received and own the website.
Extra pages and online shops
Extra pages (£25 a page): the rules above apply. Consumers have a 14-day right if it's a new contract.
Online shops: your quote and contract will set out the refund rules.
If we end the contract
We'll refund anything you've paid for and haven't received. See "Ending the contract" in our Terms.
How refunds are paid
We'll refund you the way you paid: by card through Stripe, or by bank transfer to the account you paid from, unless we agree something else. Card refunds can take a few days to appear, depending on your bank.
