Terms
Last updated: 2 November 2026
These terms explain what you get from Devologies, what it costs and what happens if you leave. You'll get your contract before you pay anything. Your contract includes these terms. If they differ, your signed contract applies, but it can't take away the promises below or your legal rights.
Who we are
"We" means Devologies.
- Address: 49 Corporation Road, Newport, NP19 0AY
- Email: support@devologies.com
- Phone: 07492 165322
We're not VAT registered, so there's no VAT to add.
Consumers and business customers
The law gives different protection to each.
- You're a consumer if you're an individual buying wholly or mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession.
- You're a business customer if you're a company, partnership or other organisation, or a sole trader buying wholly or mainly for your business.
Your contract will ask which applies to you. If a term applies only to one group, it says so. Where it doesn't say, it applies to everyone. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law.
What you get
For £399, a custom website:
- 5 pages
- copy written for you
- mobile-first custom design
- basic SEO setup
- an enquiry form and click-to-call
- your photos prepared, and stock photos where needed
- Google Search Console and Google Analytics set up
- a cookie banner and privacy pages
The cookie banner and privacy pages are a starting point. They're not legal advice, and you're responsible for checking that they fit how your business uses personal information.
For £29 a month, we look after it:
- hosting
- SSL
- backups
- security updates
- small edits
Included at no extra cost while you're on the monthly plan:
- your domain name, registered in your name
- your business email
Domain names and business email are free only while you're on the monthly plan.
Not included: online shops. These have their own price and timing, which we quote separately.
What it costs
| What | Price | When |
|---|---|---|
| Your website | £399, once | When you sign your contract. Changes start once payment arrives |
| Monthly plan | £29 a month | The first £29 is taken on the date your website goes live, and then monthly |
| Extra pages beyond 5 | £25 a page, once | Added to your contract before work starts on them |
| Online shop | Custom quote | As set out in your quote |
We're not VAT registered, so there's no VAT to add. These are the full prices you pay. If we have to register for VAT, we'll keep to the promise on the £29 below.
How to pay
- The £399: by card through Stripe, or by bank transfer to the account shown in your contract, using the reference we give you.
- The £29: every customer adds a card for the monthly payment through Stripe, including those who paid the £399 by bank transfer. By adding a card you allow us to take £29 each month until your plan ends.
If a payment fails: we'll tell you and try again. If it's still unpaid after 14 days, we may pause your website and business email, after giving you at least 7 days' written warning. A pause never changes who owns your domain or your website. We'll restore the service once you've paid.
Business customers: if you pay late, we may charge interest and recovery costs under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
How it works
- You send a brief. It's free and doesn't commit you to anything.
- We reply within the first working day.
- We design and build your website over the next 2 working days. That's 3 working days in total from your brief.
- You see your website before you pay. If you don't want to go ahead, you owe nothing.
- To have it tailored, you sign your contract and pay the £399. We send you the contract before you pay anything.
- We work on your changes once your payment has arrived.
- Your website goes live once your changes are done and your payment has arrived.
Working days are Monday to Friday, not including bank holidays. We use bank holidays in England and Wales. The clock pauses while we're waiting for something from you.
How the contract is made
We use DocuSeal, an electronic signing system that we run ourselves. Your contract is made when you sign it electronically. It will show you the steps to take, and you can read the whole document, and correct any mistakes in your details, before you sign. The final button will make clear that signing means you have to pay. We'll keep a copy of your signed contract and send one to you. Contracts are in English.
Until you sign, the design we show you stays ours, and you can't use it.
Limits on changes
We don't set a limit on the number of changes before your website goes live. Changes need to stay within what you've bought: the agreed number of pages and features, and the type of website we showed you. If you ask for something outside this, such as extra pages or a new online shop, we'll tell you the price before doing it, and you can say no.
Who owns it
You own the website once the £399 is paid. Your contract transfers to you the copyright we hold in the website's design, copy and code, when we receive the £399.
- Your materials stay yours. You allow us to use your logos, photos and content to build and run your website. You confirm you have the right to give them to us, and that they don't break the law or anyone else's rights.
- Some parts belong to others. Stock photos, fonts and open-source software stay owned by the people who made them, and come with their own licences. You'll have the right to keep using them on your website. Our own tools, such as our hosting set-up, aren't transferred.
- Before you've paid the £399, the website stays ours.
- The domain is always in your name. We don't own it, even though we set it up and manage it for you while you're on the plan.
- Showing your website. We won't show your website as an example of our work unless you say we can.
Your monthly plan
- The plan starts on the date your website goes live.
- It rolls month to month. There's no minimum term.
- You can leave at any time with 30 days' notice.
- The £29 does not rise in the first 12 months. The 12 months run from the date your website goes live.
- After that, it can only rise with notice. We'll email you at least 60 days before, stating the new price and date. You can leave before the new price applies, and you won't pay the new price.
Consumers: we'll send you a reminder of your plan, its price and how to leave, as the law requires.
If you leave
There's no exit fee. To leave, email support@devologies.com or write to us. Give us 30 days' notice. We'll confirm the date your plan ends in writing.
You pay £29 a month up to the end of the 30 days. If the 30 days end part-way through a month, your last payment covers only the days up to that date, so that your plan and your paid period end on the same day.
When you leave:
- Your domain is transferred to your own registrar. There's no fee from us. Registrar rules can sometimes delay a transfer, and your new registrar may charge you for renewals.
- Your website: we give you a backup of the website. We stop hosting it when your plan ends.
- Your business email keeps working until the end of your paid period, and then it closes. We give you a backup of your emails first.
- Your domain and business email stop being free, because they're only free while you're on the monthly plan. You pay your new provider from then on.
Please ask for your backup and move your domain before your plan ends. We keep your files for 90 days after your plan ends, in case you need another copy, then delete them.
Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- give us what we reasonably need, and tell us if your details change
- check your website before it goes live, and tell us if anything's wrong
- check that what your website says about your business is true and lawful, including any trade qualifications
- not use your website or business email for anything illegal, harmful, or sending spam
- keep your sign-in link and email secure.
If your site is being used in a way that puts our systems or other people at risk, or breaks the law, we may pause it straight away and we'll tell you why.
Your website visitors' data
Your website will collect personal information about your visitors, such as messages through your enquiry form. You're the controller of this information, and you must comply with data protection law. We act as your processor. This means we will:
- use it only on your written instructions, which include these terms, unless the law requires something else
- make sure our people keep it confidential
- keep it secure
- use only other processors who are bound by similar duties. Our current ones are listed in our Privacy Policy, and we'll tell you before adding or replacing one, so that you can object
- transfer it outside the UK only with the protections the law requires
- help you respond to people's requests and meet your own security, breach and assessment duties
- tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a personal data breach
- delete or return it when your plan ends, unless the law requires us to keep it
- give you the information you need to show that we've kept to these duties, and allow reasonable audits.
Types of data: visitor contact details and message content, and anything your website collects. Data subjects: your website's visitors and customers. Duration: while your plan lasts and until the data is deleted or returned.
Our liability
Everyone: nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
If you're a consumer
- We must provide our services with reasonable care and skill, and as we've described them. If we don't, you have legal rights, including asking us to do the work again or to reduce the price. These terms don't limit those rights.
- We're responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable.
- We aren't responsible for business losses, because consumer services are not for business use.
If you're a business customer
- We'll provide our services with reasonable care and skill.
- We aren't liable for loss of profit, loss of sales or business, loss of goodwill, or indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amounts you paid us in that period.
- We've set these limits with our fixed prices in mind.
Service availability: we work to keep your website and email running, but we can't promise they'll never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or a supplier outage.
Things outside our control: we aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events we can't reasonably control, such as an outage at a supplier we couldn't have avoided. We'll tell you, and do what we can to limit the effect. If you're a consumer and the delay goes on, you can end the contract and get a refund for anything you've paid for and not received.
Ending the contract
You can end the contract:
- by leaving your monthly plan (see "If you leave")
- during the 14-day period, if you have a right to cancel (see our Refunds page)
- if we seriously break the contract and don't put it right within 14 days of you telling us
- in any other way the law allows.
We can end the contract:
- with 60 days' written notice, for any good reason, such as if we stop providing the service
- straight away, in writing, if you seriously break the contract and don't put it right within 14 days of us telling you, including if you don't pay.
If we end the contract, there's no exit fee. We'll still transfer your domain, give you a backup of your website and emails, and keep your email working until the end of your paid period. We'll refund anything you've paid for and haven't received. If you've paid the £399, you still own the website.
Complaints
Please tell us first, at support@devologies.com or on 07492 165322. We'll try to reply within 5 working days.
Consumers: we're not currently a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme. If that changes, we'll tell you when we give you the outcome of a complaint.
Other terms
- Changes to these terms. We may update them. We'll email you at least 30 days before a change that affects your plan, and you can leave before it applies. Changes can't take away the promises above during your plan, unless you agree.
- Transfer. We may transfer our contract with you to another organisation, including a company we set up to run this business. We'll tell you, and your rights won't be reduced. You can transfer yours to a new owner of your business if we agree.
- Other people. Only you and we can enforce this contract.
- Severance. If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- The whole agreement (business customers). Your contract and these terms are our whole agreement. You haven't relied on anything we've said that isn't in them. This doesn't limit liability for fraud.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- Consumers: you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and you keep any legal protections you have where you live.
- Business customers: the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
